Born on July 24, 1947, Zaheer Abbas is a Pakistani cricketer who played for the national team from 1969 to 1985. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen of all time, and is often compared to the legendary Australian cricketer Sir Donald Bradman.

Abbas was a stylish and elegant batsman, with a wide range of strokes. He was known for his ability to score runs quickly and consistently, and was one of the most prolific run-scorers in the history of the game. He scored over 10,000 runs in Test cricket, and over 7,000 runs in One Day Internationals.

Abbas was a key member of the Pakistan team that won the 1979 Cricket World Cup. He was also a member of the Pakistan team that reached the semi-finals of the 1983 Cricket World Cup.

After retiring from playing, Abbas worked as a coach and commentator. He is currently a member of the Pakistan Cricket Board's advisory committee.
